No, his third one (2009 I believe), was stripped as can be easily viewed with his AQHA performance record. He only has AQHA World Championships in 2007 & 2008.

I know that he won the title.....but as to whether they honored him with it, I guess I don't know. If it was stripped from him, I don't know why. Regardless ........that in no way takes away from the horses ability & his fame. If it was stripped Im sure Famous Ed had nothing to do with what ever caused it. The credit is do to him........because his ability earned it.

Yes, you are right that it doesn't take away from his ability. He was an amazing horse with a record to prove it. And of course it was not his fault the world title was stripped. As in probably all the cases of World Titles being stripped (his is certainly not the first), the fault lies with those who are responsible for handling them. |

If you read the posts on Pete Oen's Fb. William Montchal, Owner of horse ,stated by AQHA records during time of death, who is Madison's dad states that the Josey's Junior World was Famous Ed's 4th World Title. Surely the owner of the horse would no. |

Pull his performance report from AQHA. It's posed above. The 2009 was stripped. Yes, he was awarded it at the time, but evidently AQHA found things later and pulled it. As with most things with AQHA it takes them a long time to do anything. I have know 2 other horses get titles stripped and if you placed in the class you get a letter in the mail saying "So and so was stripped of their title because of _____________________, please return your award(s) so they can be re-distributed to the proper people. Blah, blah blah". I personally got 2 of those letters, different cases, 6 months - 1 year after the actual show. In those cases it was a failed drug test. They tell you in the letter. I don't know what the case was with Famous Ed as I was not in the class that year. |

If AQHA stripped him of his title would they not print something saying so & then give credit to the actual winner? So people would know that it was stripped from him. I'm not trying to argue. I just knew he won it in 2009 but never knew it was stripped. Plus it was months after he won it when I saw it. Just a question from one who is not at all familiar with AQHA rules. |

They usually don't print it... I've gotten a few of those letter but they were the ones stating so an so was dq so you moved up and got more points... And aqha only strips you of a title for certain things and it doesn't need to be aired in public by anyone jmho |
