My besties daughter is graduating from Nursing School and I want to buy a gift. But I have limited funds. I need ideas of something to buy. She will be starting a job at the local hospital in the Neo-Natal (?) ward. She will be working 3- 12 hr Days.

I would go with a card with money.  All newly graduated students need money!  Either to buy work apparel, gas money, or to pay bills in general!

How about some really nice ink pens?  The nurses at the hospital where I work used to get pens from the Drug reps but the reps are no longer allowed to hand out those types of freebies to the nurses anymore and even with computerized charting they still do a fair amount of writing so good pens are a hot commodity.  Also, a nice pair of bandage scissors or a lanyard for her name tag, or a nice ID tag for her stethoscope would be good.  If our nurses don't mark their stethoscopes they have a tendency to disappear.
Another idea is some nice foot lotion or stuff for foot soaks is good because they are on the run for those 12 hour shifts that often turn into 13-15 hour shifts.  Their feet take a lot of abuse.

Hope this helps!

My daughter works in the NICU.  This young lady could use - a lunch bag, like you get at Target, reuseable and you can even get their name put on it, so it doesn't get mixed up with anyone else's.  Sharpie pens.  My daughter uses a bunch of them.  Gels for their tennis shoes.  Name badge holders, I got my daughter a sterling one, but there are many different types and lots of price ranges.  Hair holders that are pretty.  Compression socks.  Lotion like bag balm, Gold Bonds.

It might sound really weird but some really nice cushy socks. You find comfy nursing shoes but inevitably your feet get sweaty plus standing on them all day--a little extra cushion helps. Also, a gift certificate for a massage (be sure it doesn't expire) standing on hard hospital floors all day can kill your back and feet--that's a really nice "luxury" when you first get out of school!

I found this on Pinterest a few weeks back. I thought it was very reasonably priced. Though, she can't wear it until she passes her boards :
