Today I was on my last mile of riding and it started blizzarding so bad I got off for safety, and led my horse home.

I needed the exercise.

As soon as I go home, it stopped.

Not horse related but I did get to go to NYC last week with my daughter and watch her dance group perform at the Statue of Liberty. What an honor as a mother! I never expected to like the city but we had a blast and getting to see Phantom was the icing on the cake. We had 2nd row seats! It was just a great experience that I got to have with my daughter and my mom

I told everyone, "All I want for Mother's day is time to ride my horse!" So we have a ride planned for tomorrow. It will be myself, my son, daughter and mom. Can't wait

I have spent the last 2 days on the road, literally. Friday night, I had my assistant and a couple of students in the slack at the Gates, NC SRA and then today, my assistant and Miss Carol were in the 11 AM slack in Augusta, NJ. We left out of Gates at 11:30 last night, got home at 3 AM and pulled out for NJ at 4:30 AM. We got back in at 7 PM this evening. I didn't make a single run all weekend. Not all of the runs went as we might have hoped. Everyone came away from each run acknowledging what needed to be worked on, praising the things that went right and excited for the next opportunity to head up the alleyway. Throughout my sleep deprived weekend, I was once again reminded how blessed my life is that I get to spend it doing what I love, helping others to achieve their goals and that I get to witness firsthand these phenomenal individuals living their dreams.

There has been a lot of good things happen lately. God my horse back from the barrel trainer and she is doing great. Since I have to board (I live in town) a friend of mine let me keep my horse closer to town at least for the summer so I only have about a 16 mile round trip drive to go riding instead of 50 mile round trip. And I've been able to ride about twice a week. I always wish it was more, but I can't seem to coordinated weather and work, LOL. So, I'm pretty happy right now. :)

What's the best thing that has happened to you lately?

I'm feeling pretty lucky with it almost being time to close on our home and we've had pretty good weather to ride! I actually got to ride today and not have to battle something like the wind, the rain or cold. It was perfect out.

This wasn't really recently, but one year ago today I met the man who became my best friend and is now my husband. After two months of being in denial (I was in denial, husband had a pretty good idea already), we found out that we were pregnant. Now I am 33 weeks pregnant with our daughter who should be here around June 30th. I am so helplessly in love and blessed beyond words with my husband and our daughter.

Life in general.  God has blessed me with such an amazing life and I thank Him for that everyday.  I can't complain about anything nor would I care to for how great my life is.

A few things:  my new analyst is here and in the midst of training so that part of my job is going to  be handed to her (thank God!!).  And my boss just told me they are getting me a loan administrator which would the virtually eliminate 98% of all of the things I need to do in the office, which gives me virtual freedom to just go get deals.  That freedom is so liberating I can't even begin to explain it.

My little mare is finally on the path back to where she was.  She had surgery in November with a chance of never recovering.  Well she did and then healed a torn hammy.  In the first month she has been back she has shaved a second off of her time and really is starting to find her sea legs again. And she still is the luckiest horse I have ever owned.  She wins money almost everywhere we go.  It's crazy.

And Salty girl just keeps me smiling.  The girl is a rock star and just keeps getting better.  We are having a great year.

And the most important part is my husband.  He is my rock and my everything.  He makes me laugh and is so very supportive.  I thought about entering this one race and I asked him to be honest if he thought I could do it.  He told me I needed to barrel race and to get on it.  I ask for anything and he is supportive about it.  I couldn't ask for a better partner in life.  And I love him with everything in me.

 That's happened to you lately?

Right now, it's taking 0.6 seconds off my time in a little under a month. Nothing impressive, but I'm pretty happy with it. We have a solid pattern down, now just to speed things up a bit.

When I ask my daughter if she want something (food, drink, etc.) she says, "No thank you Kyla" (she won't call me mom she calls me by my first name no matter how hard I try) She is almost 2 and very polite.

God blessed me this week -

My parents came and hung out with the SO and I for a full weekend of fishing, gardening, and grilling out. We only get to see each other a couple times a year and it was super special.

I was ground pounded by a colt and learned that I didn't break anything!!! (just a couple hoof prints, bruises, and chiro appts away from being just fine!)

It rained - alot!! Our pasture needed it!

My strawberry plants are taking off like rocket ships ... YUM!

I am blessed to have people who love me and a job that supports my horse addiction!

Have a great week ya'll!

This!! :)

 Ditto....

Every day I wake up and take a breath of fresh air. Every day my daughter comes walking out with her sleepy eyes and says "hi mama". Every day my husband kisses me goodbye when he leaves for work. Every day my horses whinny for breakfast. Every day God gives me another moment with my family.

I'm sure we can all agree with that.

My husband has said ok to me resigning from my job to stay home.  I am a teacher.  While I love what I do, we have decided to put family first.  I only have 7 days left!  I am so darn excited... our whole family is overjoyed.

I love this post

Please DON'T take this as a brag (this is being typed with humility and gratitude). I just feel so incredible blessed to have two children that are healthy and self driven. Today was a big day in our house...

My daughter was accepted into the National Honor Society (this is ALL her and her own drive when it comes to school work and grades).

She also made it to the finals of the 200m hurdles today at the championship meet (this is a huge accomplishment because she has NOT placed all year long and has worked so hard to learn how to run the hurdles, just happen to put it all together at the right time).

My son's baseball (coach pitch) won today. I LOVE watching theses kids play win or lose. I enjoy the humor, youth and fun they bring to the game. We have a great group of parents too, so that makes it even more enjoyable.
