My sister is looking to breed her good barrel mare in a year or so and she is looking to do onsite AI or live cover if at all possible. She's trying to avoid the expense and hassle of shipping. So, she's looking for studs that are within driving distance (we live in north Idaho). She wants to add speed and improve her mare's shoulder, while keeping her bone, hip, and cow horse athleticism. She's breeding for a barrel/all around type keeper for herself. Here's the pedigree on her mare: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/mochas+west+cove+angel
Know of any studs in the northwest that fit her criteria? Budget isn't super important but would prefer the stud fee be under $1500. Thanks! :)

Depends on what you consider "driving distance". My first choice would be Honors A Bounding. He is in western OR. Not too far from Salem.

There are quite a few good ones! Our Hush Money is in the Davenport, WA area. JD Look is in southeast WA, A Firewater Twist RB is in Northeast Oregon. I personally love Dats A Frenchman! I love my mare by him! He has put a lot of winning foals on the ground. Kelli Currin has 2 by her great stud Captain Biankus. And Honors Abounding is also a great looking stud! Go look at the vgbra website. They have a ton of contact info on many nice studs. Not all are in the northwest but you can find a lot of contact info there. Also I know he is over what you want to spend but Judge Cash is also in Oregon!

Thanks for all of those studs! I have a gelding by JD Look that I love and my sister loves so he's definitely on her short list :) I didn't realize Our Hush Money was still breeding! That's good to know. She's going to have a hard time picking with all the nice ones up here!
eta: I wish we had the money to breed to Judge Cash... I wouldn't have even posted anything about looking for a stud, she'd be booked already! LOL

I just bought All American Royal. He should add some speed and size. You should look at vgbra.org. They have a bunch of nice stallions listed on there with the stallions info. I think all of the above stallions named are in there.

I agree with Honors, I would have bred my mare to him but I already have one of his babies and she is awsome...
