I have 2 mares. I just got the second one last week wednesday. the new mare isn't fully shedded out yet and the vet said she probably wouldn't start cycling until she is totally shed out. she saw the vet Wednesday before I hauled her down the road to my house(got her from the neighbors). within 5 minutes of getting home she was showing major signs of heat and my other mare came in the next day. just curious as to if they cycle together. I was also told it may be hard to tell when she comes in since she isn't around any boys...

lol I know that if several women live together their cycles end up synching up. was just very strange and funny at how fast she all of a sudden came into heat when she got to my place. I had been at the neighbors for a few hrs before she got to my place and no signs at all. the other mare has been living alone for the last year and she turned kinda study when the new mare got here. was flipping up her lip and smelling the air, squealing, striking, and the next day was in heat too.

Well... I was there in Missouri when Lincoln University was doing implants when they changed from cutting into the cow to implanting via a straw and I was there when they started flushing.. to do all this.. I was there watching when they learned to freeze eggs back in the 80s.. I was milking for a registered herd.. I've seen lots of stuff.. Their focus was twinning... but we learned some other things while doing that..

The majority of my 14 mares will be in heat together . . . and have several heats before being completely shed out. They also consistently get pregnant on the one cycle I breed them, before they shed out.
