Has anyone ridden or own a Coats flex tree? Im having one made and talked to myles about which tree i need for Boyfriend and after seeing the pictures of his wide loin he suggested the flex tree. I asked more about it and was told its just a softer wood tree with the same cevlar coating the other trees get and even when you try to flex it; it doesnt hardly move. Anyone have opinions on this particular tree by Coats Saddlery?

A friend of mine had one a while back and sold it. I want to say she said it felt like it sat her on her pockets too much? I honestly can't remember. She's 2stickhorses on the boards and is super busy so not on here hardly at all. You could probably send her a PM, she's super niceand would be a good one to ask.

Thank you!! Ill send her a PM. I should have added that im currently using a friend of mines 2003 built standard tree saddle and got used to the seat. For the type of horses im riding right now its worked out great. I usually like a sit in the center of the seat like a CJ saddle sits you but i have since changed for this horse and another :)
Im just curious if it really rides like a regular tree and not more like a sports saddle. I have never ridden a flex tree so im not sure what to expect. Im assuming it will be like a normal tree saddle.

the Coats I am ordering is coming on a standard tree… I lucked out and the lazy L trophy saddle I had fit the horse I had perfectly per my pictures I sent to Myles. But I have heard good things about the Flex trees too! I can't wait for my coats. Just paid the last amount I owed on it.. ouch.

Haha ouch is right! I love the saddle im borrowing but Myles said its a old standard and they have flared the bars and widened them since this tree was made. Im sure the standard tree will fit the 2nd horse im ordering a saddle for. Im excited about mine and im sure it will be awhile before i get it.

How long did it take yours?
I'm still waiting on mine. I ordered it in April and they said it should be ready in July.

I recently received my new Coats, its on one of the new trees but not the flex tree. My gelding is super wide and flat through his back and loin area. I was using a Caldwell Maxxed out on him.

I Had one..... It is not the fix for a hard to fit horse...not sure about loin, but it really bothered my horse and left big welts on his shoulders, and made another bomb proof mare start to buck, I sold it.

I have one and LOVE it! Myles helped me try on several saddles at the Elite 2 years ago and found the one that fit her best. I've had no problems with it.
