Not her tail, but the side of her hip. I see her do it at least once a day. She has been really humpy to ride lately too. Doesn't seem to be in heat and rarely ever shows heat demonstrably. Ideas?

Either her ovaries are bothering her or she's trying to "relieve" her desires while she's in heat and there's not a stud around to help a girl out! Trying to find a nice way to say that!

I had a mare who did that before going into heat. And now have a mare who does it during. Totally normal. The first one would get ****y under saddle but the one now is only ****y to other horses.

Could be heat or if they are sore back there at the buttock they will work it like their own message. Kind of like us if we are sore we like deep tissue messages to relieve it. Horses know what they need.

Mine does it whens she is in heat. She rocks her stall wall and will rock our huge trailer when tied...lol. She gets pretty tender over her loin and rump when in heat too. Poor girl.
