Monday she will be 5 weeks old... her abdomen is looking a little bit poochy... i would say it extends downwards more now. This is my first foal and I'm a worry-wart.... Is this normal at this age? When should she be wormed? What about the mare? Thank you...

I would think parasites, worms. Usually babies on the dam's don't get pot bellies. We deworm within a month of the mare foaling and since ours our born in big pastures they don't get it again until we wean at about 5 months. If you have access to your babies though, I think it is good to deworm earlier if they need it.
