Location: whitesboro tx 76273 | I heard on Good Morning America this morning that the CEO of Levi's says to never wash your jeans. I thought he would say to send them to the cleaners, but no.... read on. You just need to spray them with white vinegar and vodka and put them in the freezer to kill germs. That may work in New York City, but not here in Texas! I guess he has never seen my husband's jeans after castrating calves, pushing in a prolapse on a cow, pulling a dead calf out of a heifer, taking apart a tractor or raking hay without a cab. Sometimes I soak his jeans outside before even bringing them into the house to be washed. |

My mamma makes us do the same thing. If were muddy we don't wear our jeans in the house without being nearly drownded from the water hose. |

We have been branding calves every day for the last week. Between what Brett & I both have on our pants at the end of the day, there is no way "spritzing" them is going to work. And no way that they would ever end up in my freezer with my food. |

Location: Displaced Iowegian | I saw that yesterday morning.....apparently that suggestion is for the "city folks" that buy Levis to be "cool" and wouldn't DREAM of doing any work in them.....no way am I putting my jeans covered with horse poop and cow dung in with MY FOOD in the freezer (even in a plastic bag)......I do wash mine "inside out" to save some of the color. |

My other gripe gonna make me sound old. I cannot stand to pay $75 for jeans that already look worn out. Holes...scuffs..."wiskering"...whatever they call it...I hate it. I guess they feel they need to add "character" to them or something. Well...Mine tend to achieve that character naturally...by wearing them to do actual work. |

If I am paying for new jeans, I want them to be DARK blue! And of heavy weight material.... and REASONABLY priced! Without a bunch of froo-froo bling on the pockets to make my butt look *gasp* bigger!
I finally found a brand of jeans that actually fit me, without exposing my butt crack....the Rockies 5 pocket jeans. And go figure, they discontinued them. I bought I think, 15 pair at clearance price *yeah!*, but have no idea what I am going to do when I use them all up. I put patches on 3 pair a couple of weeks ago (am wearing them out in exactly the same place?!?), and use those for farm/ranch pants.
Going from heavy duty jeans that fit at a cost of $10-15 a pair, to light weight crappy jeans at astronomical prices..... perhaps I can stretch the ones I have to last me a few more decades and that they will outlast me.
As far as not washing them, I have exactly the same viewpoint as y'all. Not wash my jeans
