New Crown C I bought isn't really the same as my other Crown C as far as how it sits me or sits on my horse... so I am looking to buy a Coats saddle per suggestion from a friend/trainer who rides in them. There is an obvious price difference with the Lazy L and Coats Orginals and I was curious how different are they as far as trees go and seat, etc... Thanks for the input!!

Call Larry. He will explain the difference to you. He won't sell you what you don't need. He also backs his saddles. Awesome customer service.

I have a Lazy L and quite like it. I got a hold of Larry and asked some questions about the difference. he backs the Lazy L saddles 100% as well as the ones he himself makes. Same tree in both. I could not afford one of his handmade ones and he assured me I was getting very good quality with his Lazy L line. This is my experience and some others may have other opinions or experiences......Good Luck!

True old time Coats saddle users usually don't like the Lazy L's. They claim they don't sit and ride the same as the originals.

I won a lazy l back in March. Even though it's a 14" I was able to squeeze myself in, but it didn't fit my horse either. It's well made and has an ostrich seat, but it's a very nice saddle and I wish it fit us but I'm going to have to sell it.

The Lazy L is factory made while the originals are handmade. I have a Lazy L and it is definitely a very nice saddle and high quality but just not as high of quality as the originals. For the money though IMO a Lazy L is definitely a higher quality saddle than many other factory made saddles like Circle Y, Tex Tan, Reinsman, etc. I also think it is much nicer quality than Double J (which I am not a fan of and think they are over priced anyways).

What's the price ranges on Lazy L? 2000 range or more like 1500 range? (I'm tired of my Corriente).

I think you can get a fairly fancy Lazy L for under $2000. Pretty sure of that.

I have a Lazy L trophy saddle and I can put it on anything and ride. I don't like to RUN in it as I feel like I need just a hair deeper of a seat. I think if I made myself run in it a lot, I would get used to it.

I ordered a custom coats saddle and it should get here in July I hope. I am hoping the seat rides a hair different, otherwise I will just get used to it! The horse I am running now I think I would fly out of my Lazy L. She's almost left me in the dirt in my other saddle leaving the third, LOL.

I ordered an oak leaf 3/4 tooled coats with a suede seat, standard everything else. It cost me $3750. I hope to never have to sell it or switch out...

No the double js are over priced and not made near as well as coats or martins. It's a shame because they are nice riding saddles
