Location: East Tennessee but who knows?! | Back in early March my step-daughter had an accident in which she got carbon monoxide poisoning. She was exposed for at least an hour. She never should have lived, was in a coma and her initial MRI's showed between 50/60% brain damage in cognitive thinking and vision areas of her brain. A couple of weeks ago she was upgraded to minimally conscious.
It's been an extremely long journey so far and it seems like we've been waiting forever for ANY sign of awareness or thinking. The last two weeks she has shown big improvements.
Yesterday, she was able to say her first word and I was blessed to hear it......and it was my name.
I have never been so excited to hear first words as I was hers and humbled at the same time. God has had her in His hands the whole time -- It's too long to post, but for everything that has happened and the way it has happened, that is the ONLY explanation. Her progress is a miracle, no doubt about it.
Her dad traveled to be with her this weekend and this is from where he took her outside for a while and drove her around. We couldn't have imagined her being this far just a few weeks ago and here she is! God is good!
EDITED TO ADD --- NeedMoreSpeed was there when it happened. She didn't hear it but she was with me. I think we were both in shock. Very emotional moment.

Location: Bastrop, Texas | That's fantastic news! I remember the conversation we had a couple months back about her. I think practically all of us in medicine have witnessed some amazing stories. I've seen enough to know that yes, miracles do happen.

Location: I call the back seat on the short bus!! | Praise God! I can attest to Miracle's like this. Been there. Done that. Anything is possible with God. When dr's gave me No Hope to be anything more than a vegetable, the prayer warriors stepped in. They called upon God to perform a Miracle of healing for me, of which I am positive I received. Praise God for his goodness. |
