I'm still looking for ways to cut back on monthly expenses. I would like to cut off the house phone completely but we don't have great cell service at the house so that's not an option. In my research I've come across a gazillion cheap alternatives that all use VoIP. Just wondering if some where better than others. Thanks for any input.
I did cut off my Verizon cell phone and went with Straight Talk which has saved me just over 50 dollars a month!! Woo Hoo!!

VoIP = Voice over Internet Protocol.  Such as Magic Jack, Ooma Telo, Basic Talk, ITP etc.......usually a box that you plug into your router and phone. Does not use actual telephone lines.
Does anyone have this?

we have it here at the business that links the locations together on a private line.  the voip phones always have to be reset .... i dont know if i would be quick to do it at home from our experience here at work.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was wondering....what the downside is to the VoIP.
