We have a 13 yr old mare that seems to needing alot of adjusting. She seems to be out in the pole all the time.
What could be causing this? What are things we could do to help her?

I was told my horse holds his tension in his poll by the chiro. She had to use accupuncture on him so he would relax enough so she could adjust him. I do a poll stretch I found in a fitness book and then mounted I do one I found from Jane Savoie by going to youtube and searching poll suppling exercises. These have helped tremendously. We are also learning the "long and low" exercise.

also besides setting back, nylon headstalls, headstalls too tight, teeth, heavy hands that cause them to brace  against the bit........

You could be throwing your horse out. Get assessed by chiro to make sure you are not out in your neck
