Last night I got him out to exercise and noticed a swelling on his hock. It's on the front side, about the size and shape of an apple slice (longer than wide). Not hot, not tender, and he's not lame. Went ahead and exercised him lightly, then put SoreNoMore and a magnetic hock wrap on it for the night. Swelling is down slightly, and less squishy this morning, and I turned him out on grass for the day. He hasn't been run since Monday, and yesterday was his first day of exercise for the week, since I gave my horses Tuesday and Wednesday off to just be in the pasture and recover from a 3 day weekend.
Any ideas of causes, or if I should even be this concerned? I sent my vet a message, and I'll see if she thinks she needs to stop by to see it. I had her out 2 weeks ago or so for a mystery swelling on his front leg that turned out to be nothing more than a wind puff... |
