I have a mare, not bred, that one side of her bag is swelled. Not hot to the touch and I have checked for ticks and can find none. I started her on some herbs for mares because she is kinda of a real bitchy type. Could that be causing the swelling? Anybody have this happen to their mares?

If it is not hot, no fever, and she is not nursing or bagging up, she most likely does not have mastitis.  The herbs very well may be affecting her hormones which affect the teats.   My mares will every so often have one side a bit swollen with their heat cycle.
