| I think that's what she wants....now that Cody has hit 2 and is in the full throes of being a stallion, I have found that I would like him to focus a bit more at the task at hand. He's not "bad" or uncontrollable by any means, but if there is an herb or supplement that would help...that would be nice. Maybe just calm and cool or something...I have found that a lot of commercial feeds, while they SAY they are not hot energy...make him hot. And my mares. too. |

| Yes, he's not a bad boy, just would like to see if he can handle "situations" a bit easier, focus a bit longer- handle his testosterone a bit smoother. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Training and descipline are your best bet. I haven't heard of anything else that will work other than the real drugs and I know of a super nice stallion that had fertility issues from the drugs he was given. Won a ton his futurity yr and ended up being gelded due to his infertility. |

| Kim call reva's remedies and speak to her, she would be able to make you something.
Just to add Kim is quite the hand, when this stallion hits the barrel scene there is no doubt in my mind he will act like a gelding |

Location: Oklahoma | A consistent routine. My stud was and is very well behaved. His every day halter is his Clinton Anderson halter. His breeding halter is a leather halter with a lip chain. He knows that if his rope halter is on then there will be no talking or acting like a stud. He knows that there is a time and place. I do put vick's vapor rub in his nose away from home, but he also will stall overnight at barrel races. I haul him with a mare too. If I needed a "calming supplement" I'd go with the Equine Matrix. Their supplements are all natural mushroom blends and the olympic horses use them, so they are competition compliant. The owner is Chris and he is great to work with. |

| I've heard if you smoke marijuana in there stalls it inhibits their "desire." Other than that, I recommend firm handling or gelding. |

Location: GA | I would be careful of what product was given to the stallion. I was told by Dr. Bill Vandergrift, founder of EquiVision, that some herbs can have a negative affect on fertility.
Don't want your boy to have any issues in the breeding shed! :)

| The reason why I ask is I recently had silver lining herbs very quickly alleviate sensitive lower backs in two mares(that immediately showed upon first heat of the year) who are not cranky nor have problem cycles as well as keep them from being as messy in the back during their heat. I had the same success on a mare 2 years ago. So I thought perhaps there might be something that made life a hair easier for a stallion. I am not looking for any dramatic behavioural changes nor would I neglect proper handling or care. I do not want to cause fertility problems tho. |

| And I might add I have recently had success using herbs on myself to balance female hormones.

I'm sure there are some herbs out there that are safe and won't cause any issues :)
Good luck with your search! |

Remedies are remedies. They're not to cure what is normal.
Nothing replaces training, time, and patience. |

Silver Lining has a great stallion product that would be worth trying. I know for a fact that there are some top stallions out there that have had their counts go up and better quality semen after being on their product. |

Location: Midwest | A drug is anything that effects the way the mind or body works. When you give a horse herbs, you are still giving them a drug. And in addition, you are giving them a drug which is not nearly as well studied as a pharmaceutical, FDA-approved drug because those have inherently been well studied and their purity is regulated.
I am not against herbal remedies, but they are no replacement for training, and if you plan on breeding this horse, you better be aware of potential side effects that could occur in terms of fertility from giving herbs that are not well studied and have the potiential to be cut with unknown/not declared substances in trace amounts. |
