Has anyone ever made homemade fly repellant using essential oils? I bought some citronella essential oil and wondered if I could find a recipe or hear testimonials. Thanks.
I'm interested to hear testimonials myself. The only thing that keeps flies off my horses is Pyranha & TSC has it for $17.99 for 32 fl oz. It's ridiculous. I just googled & this is what came up -- http://www.moniteausaddleclub.com/flyspray_recipes.htm

Do you have an Atwoods near by? It's been on sale for $12.99!

We always made our own. in a 1 gallon bottle mix: 2 cups apple cider vinegar, 1 cup Blue Dawn (blue works the best) the fill the remainder with water. We also fed our horses a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar at every feeding. People always wanted to know why our horses weren't stomping. The vinegar sweats out and is a natural deterrent to mosquitos, ticks and flies.
