Location: OK | I want to know what you use for strains etc. that is topical. I already use poultice, linament, etc. but I'm talking about other stuff.
I have a sweat with DMSO etc. in it. I want to know:
What would happen if you DID NOT wash the area before putting DMSO on? What does it do?
If I use something with DMSO in it and don't wrap it, say it's on a stifle, what if the horse gets dirty? Is that safe? Is the DMSO still active after it dries?
What all do you mix DMSO with when treating injuries? Can you use too much of it?
I'm dabbling in what works, trying to find the best thing for different injuries as they come up. There are several things I've bought that were highly recommended to me only to find they didn't make a real difference.
