| I just got one that's 28' and would like to hear the good bad etc. I bought a used one cheaper than I could buy a used lq trlr and didn't want to go in debt. Motor's good! Dual wheels and they pulled a car with it so seems a 2 horse would be ok. Gasoline, not diesel. Thanks!

Location: Montana | We pulled a 2 horse bp with a 30' motor home when hauling for AQHA Honor Roll. Loved it, very relaxing & fun. Only downside was it was awkward to unhook & drive around town. |

| I had to make a quick decision and it was sooo cheap...but I didn't JUSTbuy it to haul. I love going to the lake or getting out of town weekends throughout the year so that was on my mind. I have driven in from Florida to Texas with a blowout and through some big traffic jams in Shreveport and narrow roads, etc so have a good feel for it. Still have my truck if I dont want to take it but when I do, I figure I'll just pack it up so can just stay parked when I get somewhere. It seems like a fun thing to get to spend time with fixing up and giving it some tlc. lol. Was hoping to get some tips from those with experience using them...and am sorry for those who hated it...can you help offer advice or what you learned you needed to beef up oon the unit? Or was it bad because of breakdowns? |

| Had friends when I was younger who did it with a 3 horse no issues, not sure of the size of there motorhome. Have friends who do it now with a 3 horse, although their motorhome is a bit more than an old Winnebago, it's pretty deluxe. |

| Thanks... oh man have I seen some gorgeous units going down the road but ih well, right? lol. This is NOT pretty lol. Could hang a chicken off it and pass for a Beverly Hillbilly but doesnt use oil, when sitting at a light it's so still a couple times I wondered if it had stalled but guess that's cuz I'm used to driving a diesel truck. lol. I wondered though if a trailer behind would sway...anyone hear of that or are they heavy enough chassis wise that wouldn't be an issue? I do realize the wind or big trucks etc can push it but after all those miles got to where that didnt bother me & wasn't hard to handle. |

Sure there were times I needed a car, but most of the time I could get whatever I needed before I reached destination. If I only took one horse I could put my moped in the front stall so I would have some type of transpo for short distance. |

Had a 24 ft. for 14 years and it was like driving a suburban to town if we needed something. Have a 29 ft. now but haven't really hauled the horses very much.
We pull a 3 horse trailer behind ours, and hardly feel it back there especially when there are only 2 horses. |

We've been looking at some motor homes also as I haven't hauled and need something we can go and do some traveling but in a pinch I could haul a two horse trailer. Have fun! |

If we aren't hauling the horse trailer we are hauling our Suburban and we don't know either are back there unless we see them in the camera. There have been very few times that we get somewhere that we need something and we have friends at the shows so if we really need something we can bum a quick trip to town. I would not want to go back to a LQ's again. |

I was shocked at how many were for sale for less money in Florida so maybe consider flying there and leasing a car for a week or so. Lots of older folks drive there to retire and then sell. Most have taken great care of their campers and rvs. Have fun Nevertooold!! |

Location: Red Raiderland | My parents bought a 2007 Tiffen with only 1200 miles on it a few months ago and they bought it from Florida from Texas. My dad is a great "fixer upper" so he knew there would have to be a bit of work on it even though it sat for years under a covered storage building. They got such an awesome deal on it. Definitely check out Florida. I think people need to understand that these homes on wheels will always need this or that tweeked as they lumber down the highways. It seems little things here and there break so just be ready for that. Overall we love ours and except for our maiden trip(ugh don't ask lol) picking it up in Idaho it has been pretty low maintainance for the past couple of years. My DH is great about keeping everything on it maintained. Have fun with your new rig! |

| Yes, you are soooo right. I have already put new shocks on it and that made a huge difference. Also added freon & charged the ac and yayyyy no leaks in the system. Ordered a blackwater tank. But still like your dad's deal, Kaycee, little things will happen. Thanks, for sharing. It has a big 5500 generator mounted on the back & I'm hoping to get another unit that fits inside a storage area like the one it was originally set up for. So far the good stories seem to outweigh the bad so that has me feeling better, lol. |

LOL… We loved it at first, but it seemed like we were constantly fixing something. Lots of little things that go south at the most inopportune times. If my husband went with me and did the driving, it was all good, lol. I could just sit back and relax. If he didn't go, and I had to do all the driving, I hated it. If there was no wind it was fine, but it seems like the wind blows 30 mph all day everyday. And there was no way I was driving that sucker in the rain! I use to make fun of all those "old" people driving down the road in their motorhome at 55 mph… Now I know why they were driving 55, lol. I want to kick my foot up on the door and drive 75 mph to the rodeo… It just wasn't going to happen in that motorhome. It was a 36' diesel pusher and you never knew the trailer was back there. But when that wind blew….

I did sell it… For much less than the purchase price, of course… But I bought a 14' living quarters with a 10' slide and I love it. That slide makes a HUGE difference. I didn't think I missed not having a truck to unhook and drive around, but now that I have a LQ again I do find myself leaving the trailer and going off in the truck more often, when I'm parked somewhere for a few days. I guess you just have to decide what you like better. I have decided that I am more of a driver than a camper, so the trailer fits me better. :)

| Thank you! I was so excited this weekend because I started the generator and even plugged into it and it ran so smooth, easy to start and the a/c worked great!! Then I made the mistake of starting the 20 year old microwave at the same time. lol. It worked but blew a fuse. Now I have googled and everything but have to figure out where the fusebox is. Thought it was good to learn this at home instead of on the road. Extra fuses are the small easy project of the day. I love this rig and nicknamed her Tubby! roflmbo!! |

Location: Blissfully happy Giants fan!!! | We hauled a 28 foot class c motor home for a number of years with a 2 horse bumper pull behind it. A heavy one at that. You can get a stabilizer for the tongue if you are worried about sway. We weren't. We put a lot of miles on ours and it was awesome. The convenience factor was amazing. Plus, my sister and I were still in school so we could do homework at a table while we were hauling and sleep on sunday nights while my mom drove us home.
I would never own one, only because the movement of an RV really freaks me out. My mom did the driving with the RV and I did with the truck. lol! But man it was nice to have that thing.
PS-we also bought ours used and my dad had to do some fixing on things but we never had any real big mechanical isues with it. But my dad did once overs before and after we came home every time to stay on top of that. |

| Yeah, the movement is VERY strange but if you can try to seriously relax your arms instead of a death grip and tensing up, seems like it really makes a difference in your response time...as I drove this from Fl to Texas..believe me it's hours behind the wheel that help you feel more comfy. Rain, bad wind, wind gusts, traffic, windy roads, high traffic ...after all that I felt alot more confident. Also the looser feel of the steering wheel! That was wierd! I'm most excited to make the trips more enjoyable for my grandbaby when the weather is awful at races. |

They will help with wind and stability (and mileage), we run them on our horse trailers and they are a big help.
Go with the best hitch you can afford. I have a friend that lost his horse trailer off the big RV and did not know it. Thank God both horses survived, but it was nasty. The hitch crystallized on each side of the hole for the ball. I don't know anymore about stabilizer or safety chains in that wreck, but it was scary.
Also, make sure you are not overloaded, that can make it very dangerous!

Wow! a 1990 model. Honestly she looks great. When I was a kid my parents bought a very used class C motorhome and we used that sucker for years. It was a Ford cab. I loved riding up top in the bed and getting see the road right above the cab. It was in really good condition when we got it and my dad kept it running in great shape and of course my mom being the clean freak she is, kept it spotless. |
