Location: TN | Normally I wear my spurs when I run my horse so I rubberband my feet in with them. But I've found that my horse runs just as good without spurs sooooo my question is how can I keep my feet more securely in the stinkin' stirrups? Is there a way to rubberband without spurs? |

| Put the rubberband around your boot......like in your arch area completely around the boot just in front of the heel. Put your foot in the stirrup. Pull the rubberband from under your boot ...under the stirrup and then up over your toe. Push the band back far enough to stay. You can do the same thing by pulling the band around the side of your foot and stirrup around the toe. Underneath would be my choice if I were going to use bands. Hope I made sense.

Location: Riding Crackhead. | I tie 2 rubber bands together. Slip one of the bands on my boot. Put my foot in the stirrup and pull the other rubber band below the stirrup and back up over the toe of my boot. My current mare doesn't need spurs and for a while I was having a heck of a time until a friend showed me this trick. Works really well, |

This is how I do it as well but I have the cheapest darn rubberbands ever! I am lucky if I don't snap one before my run when putting them on...lol. |

Location: North MS | I loop 2 bands together and then loop them around side of stirrup and tie them onto the stirrup. Outside or inside doesn't matter. Then when I get on each time I ride I just pull one band over my toe. When I get off I just pull my foot out of stirrup and the bands survive for several rides. |

A rubber band isn't going to hold my fat arse in and get hung up. |

Location: Texas | I use one rubber band and I put it on my toe, pull it under stirrup and put on heel. It stays on fine. And as far as getting hung up, I've had more break in the process of putting them on! I've never had an issue getting hung up. |

That is hilarious and so embarrassing! I could see that happening to me if I ever go fast enough to need rubber bands. |

| I bought a used saddle that had vet wrap on the stirrups .. I asked the gal why it was there. She said if she puts vet wrap on the stirrup tread she doesn't need to use rubber bands. |

Location: Red Raiderland | A bit of a tip for those that keep having their rubberbands break: Put them in the freezer until they are ready to be used. I believe even if they start out cheap, the freezer preserves them. I've got 3 or 4 ziploc bags of rubberbands in all my freezers especially my motorhome freezer. I buy them at Walmart or Office Depot and they have lasted for years. |

| Same here! If you are afraid you will get hung by a rubber band, then you need to scoot your skinny butt up to the dinner table and eat more!!!!!!!!!

| I have tested my rubber bands MANY times and every single time, they have broken easily.
I run with spurs but I still do like they said above and put it on my boot around the arch, then pull it around the stirrup to my toe, simply because I can put them on and take them off easily that way. |

Well...I had a band break the other weekend at a race while running. For whatever reason I didn't take the good one off, which happened to be on my left foot.
Remembered I needed to take it off after I had cooled my horse off and went to step down...with my left foot in the stirrup, stuck. Bless my horse for tolerating my hopping around as I tried to get it off. It was good entertainment for the folks watching. |

| Try raising your stirrups up one or two holes. |

Location: Texas | Well I can attest to rubber bands not holding my foot in when a horse decides to trip and fall and then get up and run off. Tonight my big boy and I took a nasty fall at a jackpot. I do the underfoot method and use two rubber bands lately cause they were breaking. I will say I did get hung up and drug for a split second before they broke. We are both ok but be sore tomorrow lol |
