What do you do with your futurity horses to help make sure you can help them compete to their full potential? For ex) getting the most run out of them and patterning them.
My daughter and I are training our first futurity horse and while we wanted to run at some bigger stuff my work situation has changed our plans. We will run some smaller ones that are more local. This filly has been hauled some since she was a yearling and shown halter as well just to have her out, my daughter broke her at 2 and just rode her working on basics, we started TO last year just slow work and exposure. She has 4 official runs on her and is doing good about 1 1/2 off good horses but haven't entered since March. We went back to work on more basics and just some riding , taking her out and learning some new skills. I am no expert in the futurity world but I think you can get it done yourself. I push this filly up some to see where we are at then go fix what needs fixing. She is entered in Aug and I have no doubt she has the talent to compete if we can just put it all together. My daughter who is 14 will be running her this has been her dream since the filly was born so here we go.
