A friend saw me in a weak moment and I ended up bringing home a cute little bay Arabian gelding last weekend. (free of course). She had found the poor guy on Craigslist and he shares bloodlines with her champion and so she felt he needed "rescuing" and a good home. He is 7 but sure doesn't know a lot. He is sired by a VERY fancy show stallion named Botswana. From what we can piece together he was trained for the show ring (halter) as a youngster...then apparently sold at auction for some reason. He ended up somehow years later living in a non-horse family's back yard as a pet. He wasn't even gelded until last year. He was thin and just sad looking. They didn't know if he had a name other than his registered one...they called him "the pony". Ugh...
We actually have the papers signed by the breeder/owner, and they were never transferred when he was sold. We will be doing that of course. He is the most level headed sensible horse you could imagine. (And he's a straight egyptian arab...seriously) he really wants to please and he is SMART. He is adorable and bounces on his light little feet all over the pasture. It's fun to watch. But...we are totally stumped on a barn/call name. Nothing we think of seems to fit...or has been the name of something else. So...I'm hoping you creative types can give us a hand? Something short that will be easy to call him. African Symphony is too much of a handle for the little guy and doesn't lend to anything shortened.
