I bought one and I love it. The gullet thing is hard to understand but I love the way it sits. I bought mine from the lady on here that sells them. She was very nice and easy to deal with.

Is the gullet thing the same gullet thing as the Crown C's gullet thing?

IRunOnFaith - 2014-07-10 2:23 PM What's a gullet thing?... I feel lost...
The width of the tree. Bigger/wider horses have bigger gullet sizes (numbers that go up 1/2" with Martin's system).
Most companies only offer a few different tree widths to choose from, Martin has many and it can be confusing to buy the right size if you don't know how to properly fit your horse.

I would think the things would be the same things on these saddles.

I have another question to add....
Do you feel like you have "more" room when you ride in the FX3 vs. the Crown C? Are the seat sizes the exact same? For instance, I can fit in a 14.5 Pozzi nicely, but in the Crown C I really need a 15" since you are sitting to ride more forward by being on your crotch. Could I possibly fit a 14.5" FX3 since (I'm assuming) you'd be more on your butt than crotch? I hope that makes since.

I've got one on order and can't wait! It should be here around the middle of August. The Martin people told me that their philosophy about gullet sizes/bar angles apply to all of their saddles now. :)
I really love the Crown C and the older "Racer". I always had so much more room in the Racer, and the FX3 seems to be roomy, but not quite as roomy as the original Racer. The swells on the FX3 are a little different from the racer and closer to the Crown C it seems, but the seat is very similar to the Racer. I'm excited for people to get their hands on them and let everyone know what they think!

What is the difference in relation to the crown c ? I thought I heard that it was more narrow in the front and flared in the back so it would fit some of the horses that were having to shim so much.

I sat in one in June and talked to the rep. He said the tree will fit the same as a crown c, all their trees are designed the same. The fx3 is supposed to sit you back on your pockets more now were as the martins are supposed to sit you more straight up and down. I noticed immediatly that it put my legs in front of me and I was sitting back in my seat. I feel comfortable in a 13.5 or 14 crown c. The fx3 was a 14 and it felt comfortable not to big or to small.
