Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Reading her statement I just am left with thinking that if they care so much for eachother...why can they not work it out? Feeling "Tragically stifled?" "Thoughtful and tender undoing?" Those don't sound like compelling reasons for divorce when you have a child together. But...I'm guessing this is the face they are putting on it when in reality things are likely not as mutual and respectful as they would want us to believe. Just sad.

| That's too bad. 16 years together total, 6 years of marriage, a lot of struggle for her to get pregnant, and now a 3 year old. With her trying to keep her career and remain relevant and him with his career, I am sure it is very difficult to manage. At least it sounds like they are divorcing in a peaceful manner.
I wondered about them when I read her facebook page a few days ago and she was posting about being on vacation in Cabo with her son. She didn't mention anyone else. I don't even remember why I looked on her page. I don't usually follow anything with her.

I think when she lived with her dad in Alaska she lived pretty rustic and without running water. I think her dad is a cowboy and she led people on horseback on packing trips or hunting trips in Alaska. I remember watching Ty on tv talking about her going on a camping trip with him and some of his buddies and how she knew exactly what she was doing. He also complimented her riding skills. I think she lived in her car for a while when she first moved to California to pursue music.
They still seem like opposites, but they say opposites attract.

| The last couple of times I saw her on television...which it's been probably 6 months to a year...I had the distinct impression of a woman who was no longer the sweet girl Ty had married. I couldn't put my finger on it exactly...she was showing A LOT of skin and left very little to the imagination in the breast area as the girls were literally falling out of her dress....I just had one of those "feelings" that mama might be thinking of stepping out. Of course, I have no idea what really happened but when I get those kind of impressions or feelings, unfortunately, I'm usually right. I got the total other type of vibe when I would see him....same old Ty. |

I knew they were together along time before getting married but didn't know it was that long. It seems to happen often, long term relationships, get married then divorced in a short time . I always wonder how someone can be together for years but not make their marriage work, barring some event like adultery or abuse.
edited to add: I am so glad she did not call it a conscious uncoupling lol. Hope they and their son find peace and happiness.

I've rode with Ty a few times at a couple of clinics.... The very first time it took me a till the last day of the clinic to figure out who he was... DUH!!! 
He always seemed very nice, and so do his parents. Never met Jewel, so I can't comment on that.
I'm sad to hear this. |
