Does anyone know if the Master saddles are still in business. I have a Kay Young saddle I want to sell-I want to put my ad on here today but I need to talk to someone at Masters saddles and can't seem to get ahold of anyone. I have my ad all ready as soon as they will answer but maybe they aren't even in business???

I think after they filed bankruptcy, one guy (Lonnie) has tried to keep the name but I have seen some saddles he produced this past year and there is a good reason, they are out of business. One arrived with a crooked saddle horn (very noticeable) crooked across the back of the saddle, one skirt measured a full inch longer than the other side, and I have pictures if anyone wants to see them. The girl that won it even paid an extra $650? to upgrade to a custom saddle instead of their standard trophy saddle.

Wow, that doesn't sound good. THis is a nice saddle-about 3 years old I think. It is the Kay Young one-it was a barebones model but the seat was so hard the girl had a custom seat put in by a local saddle maker. That is what I wanted to talk to them about. It is light and rides nice but I sold the horse I bought it for. Everyone that has talked to me about it has a horror story of the bad one they saw. I guess I might just be stuck with it. Maybe I will have to buy a horse to ride it on! hahah

They made some nice saddles but there were also a lot of people that weren't very happy with their final product. If you're having trouble reaching them before the sale, just think how hard it will be after the sale.

There was another thread on here a few months ago about Master Saddles and I was one the gave positive reviews about them. Now I'm trying to get in touch with him about the newest one and guess what... I'm not able to get in touch with him either!
I do still like the first ones we have but the one from last year is not good. My daughter just grew into it enough to start riding it and we discovered the tree is warped/bent/ broken on one side. Ugh!!!!
