What companie(s) or banks do you recommend? I am in need of a small loan to purchase a horse trailer (5kish) I don't need a huge loan. Who have you guys used in the past with good results. I have average credit if that helps at all.

With that size loan, I'd just see what my local bank/CU can do. We do all of our banking both personal and for our two companies with a credit union and they are far and away the lowest interest on loans, have the best service, and never treat us like just another account number.

We have financed two trailers through our credit union. With the last one, the trailer dealer said none of the big banks they finance with would have a rate so low. Love our little credit union!

Depending on the size of loan your wanting, go with a local bank or a credit union. Better rates, and easier to get a loan through compared to a larger institution

I financed mine through my local bank with no problems. My credit is not as high as I'd like it to be but I've had numerous loans for vehicles and stuff over the past few years with this bank so my "credit" with them is excellent. I've found it definitely pays off to have that type of relationship with someone local so that you don't have the hassle of dealing with a large bank.
