Are you able to ride/compete if they were adjusted in the morning....and say there is a rodeo that evening? |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | My massage/chiro says 3 days usually. I am going to a vet/chiro tomorrow since my regular girl is layed up from surgery. I'm hoping I can get him ridden again soon after. Look forward to seeing what everyone replies. |

| Depending on the amount of adjustments my chiro usually says 2 days and the 3rd day a light riding day then back to regular work. |

Location: Deep South | I just had my guys looked at yesterday morning. My 4yo's left hip was out. He told me to give him 24 hours off, then 3 days of exercising in straight lines only, then I could return to normal.
ETA: I think giving them a few days of not using themselves as hard is recommended to allow the adjustment to stay "in" I guess? Whereas, if you just go right back to riding/running, it could go right back out without giving those muscles time to get used to it.

^^This!! Depending on the amount of adjusting that's been done, depends on the amount of time off. My personal preference is about 2 days off then light riding on the 3rd day and back to work after that. |

| Don't use a chiro but an Osteopath instead. 3 days and depending on severity, up to an additional week of regular conditioning(straight lines, large circles, no sprinting). Also she always sends home specific stretches for me to continue for those 3 days off. After going to her we have been able to wait up to 4 months between adjustments on my old man, at the beginning it was every month. |

Location: west of East Texas | I took three to chiro/vet today for the first time ever. Two got quite a bit of adjustment and the third got none. She didn't say take any time off. |

| Two days. She said I could work him on the ground, but just to ride. Told me the adjustments hold longer if you let them have a couple days afterwards. |

I've never done that but he saids you can. I always schedule the adjustment a few days prior to a run. I will exercise them the next day. Edited to add weh have a great chiro who goes to big races and workd on a ton of horses who run the same day.

Location: God's country...aka TEXAS | None. Mine usually meets me at a rodeo or barrel race and adjusts them and does acupuncture, then we run. They always feel great afterward! |

I scheduled an appointment with the chiro on july 25th (booked full and only available on that date)....but I have a rodeo that night, and it's kind of a "hometown" rodeo that I run every year. I want to get her adjusted, but don't want affliction with the rodeo. |

Location: Randolph, Utah | My lady doesn't recommend adjusting and riding in the same day. You can if you have to. I usually give mine at least 1 day off after, just depends on how much they need.
One vet/chiro that goes to a lot of races will work on horses and send them right over to run. I've found my horses don't hold their adjustments well doing that. A day off and a few days of light riding seems to help my horses. |
