Location: Somewhere around here | Me and my husband have been discussing about the Heritage Fall and Winter Mixed Sales. I'm wanting to go to the Fall one just because it's sooner but he wants to go to the one in Winter. Which one is actually better to go to? |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I honestly think the winter one has better quality-for broodmares anyways. The fall one is full of opens and ones that they are selling because they have breeding issues-came open another year and are getting them gone. There are still some super nice ones, but I like the winter sale better...other than the roads from WY to OKC in Jan |

Location: Somewhere around here | Thank you, very good to know! We're not quite looking for broodmares yet. Is that the main reason for there to be two maxed sales so close to each other in the year?
And if we're not looking for a broodmare then does it really matter if we went to the Fall or Winter? |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I think there are more 2yr olds in the Winter. Both have a lot of 3-4 yr olds, just get x rays on anything you are interested in. |

I've never been to Heritage, but hoping in the next 1-2 years we can make a trip. If you are buying something that has raced, do they have vets on location to do lameness, xrays, etc? Is it a place to "dump" junk or are you ok with buying something there as a prospect? |

There is a vet on site. You can definitely find some nice prospects! Not everything going through the sale is a throw away. Yes, as with every sale there are some you need to watch out for but for the most part some pretty nice stock goes through there. |

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | The winter one is soooo cold, but it makes you feel like if you can outlast the rest of the bidders in the fridged weather, that you might just get yourself a great deal......at least, that's what I tell myself lol. |

Location: Texas | If I were you, I would wait until the fall sale catalog comes out, look at the catalog, and see if theres anything worth making the trip for the fall sale. If not, wait until the winter one! I love their sales… several of mine have come through the mixed sales at one point. |

| I've bought and sold at both sales. Historically the fall catalog is a little weaker. That said, I've been very happy with purchases and sales at that one. I agree with waiting to see the catalog and making a decision based on that if possible. |

You are so right! I left WY when we were 30-40 below with a windchill in Jan and got to 27 degree OKC. With the humidity or whatever you call it, I was frozen to the bone. I couldn't wait to get back ti WY where at least with overalls and heavy coats I was warm. And to top it off I spilled a bucket of water on my pants legs while watering the horses. The trailer was parked a good mile from the stalls BRRRRRRRRRRRRR |
