I want to get a smaller LQ trailer for my daughter, and not spend a million dollars.
I understand that the top of the line Elites, Cimarrons, 4 Stars and Platinums are the best, however I don't really want to spend that much. We have been looking for a used one of those for quite awhile and can't seem to find anything that works or that isn't thousands of miles away (she is in California.)
I founds a smaller Lakota, and a smaller Sooner (both new) that we like the floor plan on. Both are 7' wide, two horse trailers.
Any opinions on which is better construction? I do want something that is going to be decent quality.
Thanks!

I'm not much help....we have a basic Sooner trailer with a dressing room that we've beat to death and it's held up well. It's at least 15 years old. I can't comment on the LQ aspect.

I used to really love my Lakota, and found the company to be good to deal with until last fall. I have an issue that I feel like should be covered under warranty and I was told it wasn't too bad... For that alone, I don't know that I would buy another.

My hubby works on trailers for a living and says he wouldn't trust the new Sooners. They were bought out by Universal Trailers who make Exiss's. On that note, I have a 14 year old Sooner that is awesome. He says about 2004-05 the quality of the Sooners started to decline. He says the Lakotas are nice trailers but they could do a better job on finish work like trim, latch quality, etc. :-)

Just an FYI, having had both....you really need a 7'6" wide or an 8' wide with an LQ. That extra few inches really makes a BIG difference in the interior of the trailer. And I've found you can find a small 3 horse cheaper than a 2 horse. Just my experience. As for the two brands, I really don't like either. JMO
