| Please no snarky comments ..this is just an FYI....Rodeo Girls has been cancelled.
Our reporter Steve called A and E and was told the show did not have the ratings to continue. Thank you Steve and A and E for answering our questions. |

Hungarian Midget Woman
Location: Midwest | I'm not suprised... honestly, it was a short run (like 6 epi's?) season on A&E.
Unfortunately, I don't think many people outside the world of horses and rodeo would be interested in the show. And they lost the rodeo folks when they focused more on the drama aspect than the actual rodeo.
I think they tried to draw in the non-horse people with the drama (which didn't work), and in the same aspect turned off the horse audience with the drama.
I also heard they had something like 6 months of shooting to produce the episodes they had, so the production costs probably outweighed the potential profit.
FTR, I thought the show was silly, but fun! Oh well. lol |

Location: LaCygne, KS | I have a friend that was on another A & E reality show last year. He named off 6-8 "reality" shows on several networks that will not air again. I think his show will have a second season. I won't name the show, but he said the filming was VERY time consuming. |

| I'm not really surprised. Reality TV is all about drama and trash. Rodeo Girls was not anywhere close to being in the league of shows like Bad Girls Club, Jersey Shore, etc. I think the general public likes things to be way over the top so they can feel better about their own lives a lot of times. |

It was on my "bucket list" right below a long drive to see the largest ball of twine in the world. It saddens me that I will never be able to hold my grandaughter on my lap and tell her how I once watched "Rodeo Girls". |

All of the girls were great to work with, and were very receptive to our help. As the show went on, the emails got more positive. We enjoyed everyone, and would have done it again if given the opportunity. |

I admire anyone with the guts that to heck with the results, I want to chase a dream. Trust me, I finished last one time at a race of all the entries that didnt' knock, its a bitter pill to swallow and not one I took lightly. Can't imagine doing it with a national audience....I made a promise to my mare then that I would never put her in that position again and now she has kidney stones. What I freaking wouldn't give to be dead last at a barrel race again on THAT healthy horse. Failure has become about not starting, not so much about failure to finish or finishing last. AT least those girls put themselves on the line. |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | I watched it once. I could have overlooked the drama if they'd shown a whole run at once. They filmed each run from several different angles and mashed them together. That was aggravating to try and see how each girl and each horse was working, and not be able to see them work. If they had made some part of the show about barrel racing, I could have tolerated the rest. |

I think that would be WAY more entertaining. You'd have all the drama, backdrop of rodeo, but wouldn't have to try and present and explain rodeo to non-rodeo people.
I think the concept of Rodeo Girls was good, but the production of it was lacking. To appeal to a broader audience, they had to focus too much on the drama and most of the drama seemed fabricated. To try and draw in rodeo people, they mashed footage and events together to the point that it was awkward and unrealistic. I think these are the reasons it didn't make it. The producers didn't focus on any audience. They just grasped at straws and hoped it appealed to somebody. |

I agree with you! Being a rodeo wife is dramatic as it is lol. Knowing you have to win to get paid, the traveling/being apart/hustle of it all. High stakes, ect. Its perfect for tv. lol. It would be cool if they got some well knowns and some "up and comers" to participate. If Shada was on there I would be dialed in lol. Like you said it would need the right people to present it the right way. I think it could def work! |

Um.... DID YOU SEE THAT DINA IS BACK!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? YES!! And I usually like her.... but - does she seem a little b****y? Should be interesting... Oh mah goodness I'm so stinking excited about this coming back on! It's my favorite Housewives show. My husband hates that I watch it, but I love it so much. I guess because I don't have girlfriends and drama in my life? So I like to watch it on tv? Who knows. Maybe I need therapy lol. I love ALL the Real Housewives - except Atlanta, I can't understand what the hell they are saying 95% of the time. I struggle to understand New Jersey too sometimes. Theresa is a WACKO... I hope she pulls her head out this season. I'm sad Caroline is gone though : (
I miss Jacq!!!!!!!
My husband also hates that I watch it, but I also don't have much female drama in my life (only 1 close girlfriend)........ Except for the drama that's attached with my husbands three sisters!!! I could never act out the way they do towards each other, but it does keep my attention!!
& to whoever said they can't watch Atlanta b/c they can't understand what they're saying..... You hit the nail on the head!!!!
Lol that was me. Between all of their slang and what not and the fact that they talk 90 miles an hour.... I just gave up. I was having to "urban dictionary" too much of what they said. lol my favorite was when two of the ladies started calling each other "ashey" as an insult.... What? That is dry skin. Like your elbows and knees when they get dry how they get flakey. Who knew. I just gave up.
NJJ - I sure hope they rerun it!! |

Barrel racing would have been good, but the focus was always on the dumb drama. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Let me put it another way here, if they were not so focus on all the drama they wanted, and foucs on the rodeos and barrel racing and show all the runs I bet the show could have made it to another season. |

Since this is a barrel racing forum, and since 99% of barrel racers are women! and since so many women are supported by their hard working husbands, how does this sound?

I could see that being sucessful.
I would LOVE a show featuring ANY aspect of the Brazille family's life in the rodeo business!!! Calling all TV execs!!! Hello?!?! Make this happen!!!! Apparently, you missed the series, last fall, about Trevor (and his family) during his quest for another NFR. I believe it was 6 episodes on GAC. WHAT?!?!!! I'm devastated... I think it was called "Relentless"......Maybe they will re-run it some time.
Yes, its called "Relentless; Being Trevor Brazile". It will probably air again closer to time for the NFR. |

Location: North Dakota | Not sad. They were so trashy and annoying (or at least that'show the show portrayed them) it ruined the fact that it was about rodeo. I also blame whoever was in charge of editing for not even being able to put one whole, uninterrupted run in an episode. If they would have shown SOME barrel racing, maybe it would have been better. |
