Experiences? Have a 3 year old who has been bucking some here and there. Nothing major, just humps up when saddled and then will hump around when first lunging him. Took to chiropractor and his sternum was way out. He was also out at his pole and every vertebrate. Chiro said to stall rest him for a few days, then go back to light riding before I ride normal. He was off 3 days, I saddled him yesterday and he was totally fine. Lunged him and he bucked but when I got on him, he did GREAT! When I hosed him off, he acted as if he was still sore in his sternum area. It is cooler here and my dad kept telling me he just flinched because of the cold water. I think otherwise. Just wondering what other people have experienced with this because it isn't something I've ever had to deal with. Thanks in advance.

My friends, barrel horse was out in her sternum and kept running by all her barrels. She never does that. Sternum back in .....voila back to her old self!! I understand that this is one of the tender areas to be out in..... Sounds like your horse is getting back on track??

He was all over him but mainly held his withers and then his sternum and popped it back in...

Sounds like he'll be sore for a bit since his body has to readjust. I've had some sternums adjusted and you could tell the difference almost immediately

I have relieved tension in the sternum area before- but haven't ever seen a sternum that was "out." The first 8 ribs of the horse are attached to the sternum bone directly and would also be very out of place if their bottom attachment was out. I would think this would be a very sore and unhappy horse! :(
eta: he would be sore around his entire thorax area for a very long time- just think of all the muscles attached to the ribs that would have to be involved as well-
