Has anyone ever leased a HD truck? I have had an opportunity come up and thinking about leasing a 3/4 ton or 1 ton Dodge. Can anyone give me any advice? Can you have a GN hitch put in them? Do you tell the dealerships that you will be pulling a trailer with them? ECT??

My late husband leased a 1/2 ton Dodge one year.... we gave it back end of contract... everything had to work no extreme damage. I had a road chip from a rock in the windshield lower right corner, couldn't even see it and it wasn't in line of sight. They made us have it replaced- wouldn't accept the rock chip repair. We had a 1 ton Dodge to pull our trailer. You can have a GN hitch put on any size, only kind to have unless you need a bumper pull. The GN hitch would need to have a hole cut in bed, so I would think the lease people would be upset. I would tell them before you lease what you want to use it for. They might not take it back after the contract and if they did they might make you replace the whole bed which would be expensive to do. I would be really up front with about it, don't want to get screwed later having to purchase something you don't really want or can afford.

I've leased a lot of trucks and put gooseneck hitches in them. Don't forget that you have the option to buy the truck at the end of the lease. What I did was buy the truck at the end of the lease. Make a loan payment for a couple months then trade it in on a new one. The hitch is never an issue if you don't plan to turn it back in and walk away.

Thank you! Once place I talked to said that they allow 12,000 miles/yr... Are they stern about that? I live 30 miles from work and way further to the nearest barrel race or team roping. Granted this would not be my main ride to work and back but still, I would like to be able to drive it to town sometime or another.

You will be charged for any extra miles over when you turn it in.
