We are considering putting up a building. We have three outbuildings that are tan with white roofs. Our house is white with a dark brown roof. Husband is no help with colors...HELP

When we put up our garage, a metal 3 stall pole barn between our house and barn, I threw out coloring it like our house. Everyone said it would look funny though, so we matched it to our barn. And I think they were right, it would have looked funny.
And I love white roofs. They are the 'greenest' roof option :)

depends on what part of the country you are in ...
If you live in the hinter lands of the north, dark roofs are great because they help bring in heat and melt snow/ice quickly. You can also drop a cupola (sp?) in the top to help draw out heat in the summer.
If you live in the south, white roofs are better because they don't transfer as much heat into the building - regardless of insulation.

I'm in the polar north. Husband doesn't want a white roof but with the other buildings already being that color I think we have to go with that. I'd like darker because warmer in winter maybe?

Add in a color on your trim work on the new and old buildings. Just as an example if you like hunter green- imagine the white x's you see on the fronts of all barn doors in cartoons and such. Yours would just be tan with green x's (or just add you some green accents somewhere). You can always spruce them up a touch. Or get custom metal signs and put on the fronts of each building to add some pizazz.
