My mare recently saw an equine osteopath and I really liked how she was treated. I was wondering if seeing one for my human health issues (that my GP can’t figure out and help me with) would be beneficial… Does anyone have any experience?

My mom's dad was a Naprapath... He gave wonderful treatments... Back in the 50s the best hospital in Chicago sent grandma home to die with cancer and he began treating her... She outlived him into the 90s..

Thank you.
If you don't mind, could you tell me the name of the osteopath you took your horse to? I am kind of at a dead end with my horse and would love to take him to one. PM if you would rather.

One of my former PCPs was an osteopath. She didn't seem any different from an MD. From what I know, some of them actually believe in the methods and some of them went that route because it's easier to get into than regular med school. I like the idea of osteopathy.

I broke my arm 15 years ago and my doctor was an osteopath. At the emergency room, the doctor said I was probably looking at surgery since it was half way displaced. But the osteopathic doctor asked if I wanted to try without surgery so of course I did. He set and caste it and had me come back in a week. I was healing well do we left it for 3 more weeks. The cast was going to be on for 6-8 weeks but at 4 weeks I got my cast off, so I was really happy with him. Sorry for the book, lol.

Years ago I used a DO & was really happy with her. Once, I was really "all over sore & sick". She ran some of the standard tests & all came back normal. Then she did my first ever chiropractic adjustment & "cured" me for lack of a better word. I was sold. And very upset when she moved away. I now use an MD occasionally & a Chiro all the time.
