Location: The Great West | What would you buy? Im not concerned with tooling, custom conchos, or other "bling" and will most likely have a Wade 3000 pad under it. I'm willing to spent the money, as long as its comfortable to my horses, I'll ride several different ones in it so nothing overly wide/narrow. This saddle will replace an old FQH Saddlesmith that I really like, but it will cost a lot more than its worth to repair, and Saddlesmiths are not made like they used to be either.

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I had the priveledge and am still reeling from the experience, of meeting Meleta Brown and having her help me saddle fit 2 horses. One is 9yrs old and always threatened to buck/crow hop if his saddle moved forward just the slightest which made ranching and of course barrel racing, a bit of a challange. My big hunter prospect has also been interesting. I ran the 9yr old using her saddle for 3 days and he just got better and better until the 3rd day he was actually rating the barrels and having some take off out of them and running home. Night and day difference!!! I ordered one of her newer designs just yesterday. Money is def an object, but I can either spend the money and enjoy my horses (and not hitting dirt) or keep trying all these other brands. Her advice about saddle fit just made perfect sense. |

I've decided to become a saddle collector. LOL So far, I have 2 Crown Cs, a Meleta Freedom, and an original Bob Marshall. Money is definitely an object--all but the BM were bought used at a good price or traded for. I would love to have a double J Charmayne saddle too. I'm afraid to try the Cactus one because the other Cactus saddles I've ridden were too wide in the seat for my hips. |

I'm not a fan of the treeless saddles, I had an original Dale Martin and hated it, very well made but put it on several different horses...just wasn't a good fit for me. I have a courts SC, I like it and it's working for the horses I have now but I've had ones that hated it too. |

I had one of her saddles and I loved it but my horse out grew it.
I'm jealous...Meleta has helped me over the phone with 2 different horses and she was right on and fixed my fitting problem. |

That being said, I don't mind dropping a few grand for a well made saddle....but when you talk about 4k plus for fancy ones, forget it. |

I bought a twist tree for the horse I had at the time, but now wish I had a flat tree for the horses I have now. I agree with the above post they are quality made and super comfy!! |

I have had her new freedom saddle for about a month, and yes it is a night and day difference!! I went from waiting for the buck to enjoying feeling my horse free up under me because she figured out the saddle wasn't hurting her. Love the saddle, and yes...I got tired of hitting the dirt too!! |

I am also a fan of Ammermans, specifically the Libby Hurleys. I have 2 and LOVE them for colt riding or outside horses. Other good ones are Shiloh Jordan Peterson Contenders & Caldwell Rockets. |

Location: NE Texas | I love my Jeff Smith cutter. I've had one of everything it seems including Caldwells, Coats, Shilohs and most of the others and this saddle rides as balanced, or moreso than any of those and seems to fit my horses really nice.

Now I am in a panic, because I am about to be getting the tall one back from a short week of boot camp (for even wanting to try and buck) and the only saddle I have that fit him is my super heavy silver show saddle (and we are a loooong way off from showing). So I guess I will lug that heavy thing up on him until mine comes. |
