BarrelRacingChick - 2014-07-23 10:57 PM Thank you :). I have been looking for another pony to train ( and having no luck :( ) I am going to start looking at sale barns.
I will try to talk to Tia today and tell her she needs to get on here and help you.

BarrelRacingChick - 2014-07-23 8:54 PM Can anyone tell me what the going price is for ponies and small horse in the Tx Sale barns?? TIA!!
We don't actually have sales here. The guy I bought the pony from gathers unwanted horses and then hauls them to killer sales out of state. I can ask him to keep an eye out. He normally does not buy ponies because he loses money on them at the sale.

The horse sale close to me is very cheap. Like a poster said earlier a $500 horse is a lot, and ponies can easily be 50, especially if they don't have much training.

Elkhart Horse Auction. I think they have reopened. I haven't been in a while. There is also one in Magnolia, I think. Also, Athens cattle auction has horses go through there from time to time. They are typically pretty nice.
