I have a question for you guys. If a horse falls completely to the ground (dead stop) on its side, stands back up, and finishes the run with rider intact, does that constitute a no time? If you pm me I can show the actual video. Thanks in advance.
I have seen plenty of falls and have never seen that called as a no time. I assume a nt would be for lack of forward motion but a fall is not from the horses behavior compared to one who goes off pattern or stalls while refusing a turn.
The falls that I have seen are pretty hard, so most of the time its a no time, cause the rider will just walk their horse out of the area and dont finished their run. Are they pull up to check the horse.
This is from the NBHA rules: 10. A contestant will be given a no time if the horse or rider falls during the run in such a manner as to break the pattern, or if the rider falls off the horse. It's according to the rules of the association your running in. I would think though thatby the time a horse falls and gets back up there wouldn't be a chance of placing anyway and to give "time" would be of what value? It's pretty well over if a horse falls.
