Going to try and bring my horse down here this winter when everyone heads this way....does anyone know of any good horse boarding in the Phoenix area?  Preferably with trails nearby and in between downtown and Surprise (maybe Buckeye).  And if you know of anyone who breakaways ropes that would be even better but I'm not holding my breath.  Thanks in advance!!

I've been looking on Craigslist which has quite a few options.....I'm hesitant to seriously look because I'm still 5-6 months out from bringing my horse down. He's so bored at home though....I feel so bad.

Dunns arena is a great place, covered arena not bad footing for barrels or roping, quite a few ropers there as well.
Always jackpots, roping, pennings or something else going on. Not a whole lot of trails.

Buckeye equestrian center again big covered arena, lovely footing, Lots of land to ride off the property and go on trails.
Tons of events going on from ropings, to jackpots, gymkhanas, ETC.

Those are the big facilities I know and trust and would put my horses out there if i had to. I'm lucky enough to have my own place.

Just be careful, lots of people claim to have great places, and if the price seems cheap and almost too good to be true it probably is and they most likely have a bad rep.

i'm pretty familiar with the Surprise/waddell, Wittmann area

I'm no help in the boarding search. However, wanted to express how JEALOUS I am about taking horses to AZ for the winter! There is no better place on earth to be and run barrels during the cool months there. Love it!

This is true =)
Love it down here in the winters! The summers... well...
Today is exceptionally nice though in the Northern parts of the Valley because of the mass amounts of rain we received last night. I'm on cloud 9 right now

Well unfortunately I live here so I don't get to go back up north and rodeo.....maybe someday when I can find a job where I can get summers off.....(wishful thinking).
