Location: Somewhere around here | So it's about time for my horse to get some new boots and I've done some research over the last few months. The that I'm only interested in are Iconoclast and Classic Equine. I love the idea of Iconoclast boots but they're bulkiness worries me a little and I've heard that they're not too tough of a product. I have owned one hind pair of Classic Equine and I did like how it protected my horse pretty well but the stitching started coming off after 7 months worth of work. I just used super glue to kinda help it stay on track.
My horse runs and digs into the ground really good so a strong product is a must but I can't decide wither on these two. Opinions? |

Location: Texas | Love my iconoclast boots. I don't think they are bulky at all. I love the double sling. It's the better boot IMO and I will only buy them from now on. The only down side is they come in black or white. Works for me bc I always buy black but trying to get kids I teach to buy them over the trendy designs and colors of the other boots is dang near impossible. |

How durable are your Iconoclast boots? |

Dye those suckers! lol http://performancehorsehotline.com/page.php?Custom%20Pages=9&FAQ=Co...
I love them. My one gelding went through the pc elites like crazy! Velcro never held up long, lining always bunched and pulled loose and he would always put holes in them with less than 6 months of use so I tried the classic equines, they never gave me the support I needed and I could tell my horses weren't stopping as hard as usual. My iconoclast have made me a believer! Velcro lasts forever, no holes, lining stays tight and I can literally feel my horses getting down in the dirt better when he wears them.

Location: Oklahoma | I only use Iconoclast because it was recommended to me by the previous owners due to the horse having previously bruised his suspensory. I do not find them any bulkier than the Classic Equines I've used on previous horses. My horse is terrible at overreaching (probably because I'm bad about letting my horse go four weeks instead of the three that he needs in between trims), so I have noticed some wear, but I blame the horse and not Iconoclast.
I really wish they offered more colors cause I'm not comfortable trying to dye them! I don't think the black color option would matter so much to me if it wasn't for my horse being black! |

Ok so you think that maybe they're just as durable as the Classic's?
Also thank you very much for everyone opinions and help |

I think it's only 5.99 per pair for shipping and it's 17.95 just for a pair; or at least that's what I'm understanding on this page of hers. >> http://www.sleezybarbhorsewear.com/bootcovers.htm#description
I absolutely LOVE the ideas of these though!!!
EDIT: Opps, I just saw that you mentioned it lol, sorry!
What about this site? Looks like a good price for basically the same thing??

I honestly can't tell you. I was running in some Classics and used them for about a year and a half until I quit running and they sat in storage for seven years until I drug them out for backups this spring. I've only been using the Iconoclasts since early May and my horse has only be ran intermittently since then. (I'm not having the best luck with getting back into running!)
I'm not sure if they'll last me as long as the Classics have (obviously minus the storage time! lol), but I'm comfortable buying a pair a year if that's what it takes for a horse that is more prone to a suspensory injury. |

Do you know which ones work for Inconoclast? All I can seem to see is the 3 Professional's Choice models. |

| Iconoclast run small so get a size up! I like the iconoclast but they don't seem to hold up like my legacys. The iconoclast seem less bulky to me. I run whatever color/pattern Legacy on the front and black iconoclast on the back. No particular reason for this. Just because I needed a new pair of hind boots. |

Remember this, even if you forget everything else you've read!!
My gelding is a Large in Iconclast, but when I was waiting on his to get in I used my Medium Classics. Fit the same. And there is something a bit *thicker* (I don't think bulky is the world) around the bottoms of them. I have to use Large bell boots (Classic & Iconoclast brands) if I'm using the Iconclast boots. Otherwise he's a medium if no splint boots are used. And he's still a Medium bell boot even if I just use the Classic Legacies. Hope this isn't confusing! |

Location: Somewhere around here | Nope :) not confusing at all! I actually went outside earlier to measure my horses leg to see what he would be. He's 8 inches measuring for the Classic so he would fit in the medium section and with the Iconoclast he measured 11 inches, so a large would fit him.
I have two different tabs up on my computer right now; one is a ready to ship Classic and the other Iconoclast lol!! Now I just gotta get my hubby's opinion on how much he wants to spend! |

I have 2 sets of these in solid colors. They are easy to wash and keep my boots clean. I only use them every one in awhile so they have held up well for me. The horses I use them on also run barefoot so I have yet to get any holes or snags but I could see that being a problem should a horse brush himself with shoes. Here are a few pics of mine, even though they are made to go over mediums they still fit over my smalls with enough grip not to move around during a run. You can see they do have a little room at the top and bottom though when put over small boots though. There are also some on ebay for $8.50 shipped.

Location: Indiana | We are an Iconoclast dealer and I have only had one issue so far with a boot. Called Iconoclast and they replaced the pair for the customer. I personally love them and have hear lots of great comments from people who have bought and used them. If you haven't tried a pair, I think you should give them a shot! |

| Both of my vets told me to use the Iconoclast, and I do. I like them because they form to my horses' legs. I guess you'd call it a more natural fit. Bought my first set about six months ago (?) and they are holding up well. I use them every time I ride, not just in competition. |

Location: Mississippi | I use Iconoclast and they have held up really well. I did have one rip from an overreach on some bad ground and the company was wonderful - they offered me a discount on a new pair even though they didn't technically have to. I don't expect I will ever switch to another brand.
Love the Sleezy boot covers - I wonder which ones fit the Iconoclast though? Anyone know? |

Guard them carefully
I was at a barrel race, had horses tied up with iconoclast boots on one, classic equine on another. The iconoclast boots walked away. |

Location: Michigan | I like the Iconoclast boots but they are definitely not as durable. I have got several years out of my legacys, but only looking at 2 years for the Iconoclasts. I would say they are less bulky but seem to fit tighter. |

Location: Nowhere Special | I like my Iconoclast, not anymore bulky then CE or PC. Only had these since Jan but they get used 4-5 times a week and washed several times seem to be holding up.. The only thing I don't like about them is they take a little longer to put on and take off because of the double wrap.. Those of you wanting different colors just dye them.. Its so easy, they turn out great.. dyed a set of PC maroon boots black 2 years ago, and they are black/black been washed a dozen times and still look better then when they came new.. Dying the white ones is even easier.. |

Oh no! That's awful!! That reminds me, I need to buy a lock for my trailer tack door lol.
Well if the Iconoclast boots last over a year then I'll be happy. My horse doesn't have shoes on so I'm not worried about them tearing really, just the fabric holding up but from what everyone is saying I should be good to go. |
