so my mare has a very straight, short back with lowish withers (not mutton withered) she is also pretty wide shoulders but is made small (she has a big angle in the slope of her shoulders so she needs flared bars). she is only 3 so its not like I can buy her a custom saddle yet. nothing fits quite right though. so far I have tried both my lynn mckenzie sp, custom buford( this one fits the best but leaves dry spots behind her withers)and billy cook with no luck. getting to a saddle shop or fitter is also hard because I am in the middle of nowhere. can anyone help?

Sounds like you need something flatter bars like a Caldwell pro, PSC flat tree, I hear Martin has a flat tree, and I watched a video about Lynn McKenzie's trees and it sounds like her wide may work. I want to try a LM wide on one of my mares that sound very similar to yours. Good luck saddle fitting is tough especially on young ones that change...
