 if your horse needs it then put one on

I would use it on my mare to help her back off the bit. Once she got to where I wanted her then I would take it back off

 What I like about the double gag its like having a bunch of bits in one.  I used different kinds of curb straps for it before I would ever change to a different bit

it was one of my favorites!
