I've been looking for a paint stud recently and all the ones that I can find are cow-bred or halter or western pleasure bred. Is there any paint studs out there for under $1000 that are race bred that are also proven?

There are plenty of NICE race-bred Paint stallions for $1,000 or less. This topic comes up on here every so often so you can probably do a search on here or just search on the internet.

CRM Livewire is race bred. But his fee is $1250.  Can mortally fly.

There is one that stands in Sherwood Oregon, I believe his name is Easy on Dash or something like that. He is a young stud and I have only heard of a couple babies that have gone on to the track. I don't think he has been bred much.

Check out Lonestar Performance Horses! They have several race-bred paint studs. Also look at Suchanimage, Awesome Chrome, and Dos Poruno. Bowlan Farms in OK have  Judy's Lineage, and Lonestar Legend, and I believe it is where CRM Livewire is standing.

I love him and Dr. Frost. The only thing I don't like about Strait Firewater is that you don't get a paint every time. Other than that he's gorgeous, works, etc.....Dr. Frost is some nice, nice eye candy too....

heres the colt my mare had in May by a paint tobiano stud ($750) here in Texas.  The stud is homogyous (sp) for tobiano, so guarenteed color.   He's shedding out grulla, his dam is the gray mare in the background.

Didn't Strait Firewater just sell here on BHW?  Or am I thinking about a different stud?

There's a Facebook group called "Running bred paints for sale or standing at stud" or something like that... several studs mentioned are advertised on there.

Yes, that's correct. Erin, who owned him is a BB on here.

I got one of my mares from Erin.

Yes, the Lazy Susan will be owned by my boss, Susan Webb, and operated by me. We bought Strait Firewater and he will stand with my three stallions at the Lazy Susan Ranch. We are excited about him and the opportunities that have arisen for the stallions in the last few months. To the OP, two of our stallions are purely race bred and the other two are cow on top and run on the bottom.

We do have a facebook page www.facebook.com/lazysusanpaints and our new website should be up and running later this month. We also stand Doctor Frost, that another poster mentioned. :)

Thank you all for your replys and I do like some of them. But the mare I'm wanting to breed to. She always throws the height of what the sire is and even though she's 16hh. She doesn't throw the height but she throws more of the build and nice good shoulders and hips. Personally I don't really care for short horses or cow-bred horses. I like free runners I just seem to do better with them, are their any out there that 15.3+?

Both Jet Streakin and Mr Smokin Okey fit that criteria. Mr Smokin Okey has an ad here on BHW and Jet Streakin will have his up in another week or so. :)

My Judys Lineage grandson is ginormous (16 hands and still hip-high) and plenty of bone (o/o 15.1 hand foundation mare). He's only 4 and not patterned, so I can't comment on his running style.

My Indian Money (Aus Ranch) is 16.1hh and is bred to fly! He was on the short list for my mare! Love him!

The mare in my avatar is by Treasured Shadow. I don't know where he stands anymore, but she can absolutely run, although she's "only" 15.2hh.

Also, there's a paint son of Judge Cash, but not sure if he would fit your criteria.

eta pics. Top is my JL gson. Bottom is by Treasured Shadow (foal by Mr Jess Charger, AQHA)
