| So I received a call today from the Wyoming rep for Total Equine wanting to know if we (my husband and I) would become a dealer for Total Equine as the closest dealerin our area is almost 200 miles away and I had made inquires into their feed. My husband team ropes and I barrel race and do ranch sorting so we would be in contact with a wide variety of horse owners but I am hesitant to sell it because we have never used it a friend of mine does and loves it but I wont make a decision to put my name behind a product off one persons opinion and if I'm going to sell it I will use it too. They have 3 products for horse:
Total Equine
Total Equine LNSC
Total Equine Essentials
So please educate me :) |

| I used to feed the Total Equine feed. Lived it fr about 6mos. Then the quality went down hill and I had to almost double the feeding rate so I quit feeding it. |

I have to say I agree with this. I fed it for roughly 3 years and it was just blah. I recently switched to ADM. I'm not sure where you are, I'm in WY and distributors for ADM are few and far between. It is a really great feed, might be something to look into if you are wanting to sell some feeds. |

http://www.admani.com/horse/Horse%20Index.htm Good stuff, highly recommended!
To the OP, I fed TE a couple years ago. One of my horses ate it, no problem, but he'll eat anything. My other horse only ate it because he didn't have a choice. My horses looked good on it. I wasn't super duper impressed, but I didn't hate it. I eventually switched to Triple Crown, and then to ADM because it's easier for me to get. TE was too high in NSC for me, and I like the nutrient content and ingredients of ADM feeds better.
TE is definitely not a "one-size-fits-all" feed. Some love it and swear by it, others hate it. |

I do like the low NSC on ADM and you only feed 2# which was one of the good points of Total Equine. I think max feed was 4#/ It just doesn't have enough oomp in it for my weanlings and younger horses that were getting ridden hard. |

| We have local feed store that sells a lot of it. I personally don't feed it and have no plans to in the future. Just not a fan of the product and have other grain options that I think are better. With that being said, we do feed their Total Bull feed to our bucket calves and they have done very well on it. |

| I feed it.. I like it..
What I have gathered from all the TE posts I have seen is your either really like or you don't. I agree that something changed in the feed but i havent seen a change in my horses... so i dont really know. |

| We would purchase by the pallet @ $850 a ton (50/40lb bags) plus the cost of having to drive to Riverton (300 miles round trip) to pick it up. |

Location: Florida.. | I personally would not. My guess is you would not have many buyers in need so might get stuck with it. just my opinion though |

Location: Oklahoma | That seems pretty pricey wholesale. $17/40 lb bag, plus fuel cost and time. Do you have a market for it there? Are you happy with the current feed you are using? Will it be worth your time when considering not only going after the feed, but being available for customers? Just a few questions I might ask. |

| I agree with the ADM suggestion. I would feed it if I could get it close. I'm in OK and there's not one within an hour and I like what I feed now but when I did have a feed store within an hour I fed the ADM feeds to everything an loved it. |

Location: Florida.. | you can always ask all your horse people.. would they be willing to try it.. problem is if you dont have the clientele then you will lose money.. my farrier used to sell it .. hed take it with him in his truck to get word out .. but hes not anymore.. to many already have good feeding programs..or try it and horses dont blossom ...as with any feed.. some bloom and some wont..few i know lost condition.. |

Location: Iowa | Now people have me interested in ADM. Can someone tell me type they feed and the benefits it gives? I used to feed Total Equine but there wasnt enough fat to keep alot of wieght on my horse so I switched to Purina. However my horse was more level headed on Total Equine I must say. |

That is their wholesale price no matter who or where you are. Yes is it spendy, very spendy. They have national advertising to pay for and obviously it works.
Considering a basic quality pellet in our area is $300 a ton! |

Location: Florida.. | ADM is pretty equal to Triple Crown.. very good feed. Clean and a Fixed Formula..
High Fat.. I fed Patriot Performance which was a pellet at 12-10. Horses bloomed on it and loved it. you can browse on this webpage .. there are alot of options.. you feed less as well.. http://www.admani.com/Horse/Equine%20Library/Horse%20Performance%20Horses%20Library%20Index.htm |

| We would probably have a pretty big client base but it's not a guarantee. We have 1 feed store and Murdochs and as they can't keep anything in stock and never know when they're going to get more I can't depend on them. IF we did decided to sell...not looking like we would go with Total Equine but we would be servicing approximately 3 good size horse communities. So I don't think I would have a problem with selling feed its selling the RIGHT feed. I won't sell something that I wouldn't feed my horses. We are currently feeding alfalfa cubes + roughage and Purinas Omolene #200 grain. Our horses are worked a good 4+/- nights a week plus jackpots almost every weekend. They seem to be doing good a little hot but otherwise good on their current feed but I'm always open to something new.... |

I feed the PrimeGLO. My horses love it and look great on it. I feed about three pounds per horse a day, so it's very economical. I chose it because of the low NSC and high fiber; I wish it had a tad more fat, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I also like that it's a fixed formula, so I know I'm getting the same thing with each bag.
I am very confident in recommending this feed because I have seen first hand the difference it can make. For a few months I was keeping one of my sister's horses and I switched him from an oat-based grain feed to PrimeGLO. He was getting much less feed each day, but it was much higher quality and it didn't take long for him to start looking a lot better. His topline filled out and his overall condition improved. He's now back on his original feed and he doesn't look as good as he did when he was on PrimeGLO.

| I LOVE Total Equine just started feeding it last November. I always had feed Purina feeds and my horses looked good and felt good, but now they have just blossomed puts alot of lean muscle on them. I have a 3yo that is rode everyday and he is really gaining muscle and filling out on it. It is alot cheaper for me than the Purina. There are several people that feed it here. |

I feed the PrimeGLO and my old pony and old horse get the SeniorGLO. They all seem to be doing really well on 1-2# depending on the horse. I really love it so far. I'm going to try my babies on the JuniorGLO |

Location: floating down a river | We have been feeding TE now for around 3 months, I am very happy with it. My horses love the taste of it. There are a group of us that went together and bought a load, so far everyone is happy with it. |

Location: OKLAHOMA | I have fed ADM for over 12 yrs now. I love it, have fed a variety of there feed from Moor Glo, Senior Glo, Power Glo and the Patriot's. I find it very economical even when it seems like you pay more for bag. It is all in the quanity. I have an 24 yr old mare that started 12yrs ago on 2#'s a day of Moor Glo with Gro Strong Minerals, as of now she gets that plus Senior Glo is looks great and still beating them. I have went to patriot 12% right now and my girls look fab. With that said you might look the ADM way. |

I add in HealthyGlo for the couple I have on Sr and PrimeGlo but need a some extra fat. |

Location: Texas | I gave it a good try. Horses loved it at first, then walked away from it by month 4. I finally gave up after 5 mo. They didn't look great on it, but didn't look bad. Just so so. |
