I have a horse that is now just started to refuse out of no where. He's a 4yr and hasn't had his legs run off. We don't really do anymore practicing just slow work if so. (Has some second barrel issues)
I've had blood work done all was perfect !
Hocks and stifles check no fluid and moves off fine.
Treating for ulcers(just in case).
Had his back done. Yet may be a little sore still.

He doesn't want to work at all without some sore of issue. He is just plain cranky.
I've had a bleeder before but he wasn't a jerk to warm up.
He had 2 weeks off from the last show so I could her his back done. Yet still a butt head.

Condo bleeding be a issue maybe ? No vet here can scope.

Hocks should have fluid in them.

I would go back to a qualified lameness vet, flexion test, block and X-ray to rule out any joint problems.

What my vet generally says about bleeders is they run out of gas, start coughing after a little excertion.

It could be a respiratory infection, I would also go to a vet who can scope. Have them listen to the lungs. I can't believe that there are vets who don't carry the equipment to scope.

Yes they have fluid but no excess. They are few hours away. I will be seeing Dr Ford in 2 weeks and hope to have that done.

I've had two bleeders and I definitely could tell a less than ideal attitude the next time I rode after they bled. When they bleed it can actually "choke" them and it scares them, hence the hesitation to perform. This is what my vet explained to me.
