I have a very aged pony that has definitely been blind in one eye for many years and not to sure what he saw out of the other if anything, so yesterday he was out in his pasture and I noticed him acting strange....almost afraid circling faster than normal. I brought him in he seemed very nervous and not following his normal routine. He ate last night and this morning I followed his normal routine he seemed very unsettled but eventually did calm down. When I went out to check he panicked so bad that I put him in his stall over the course of the day he calmed again. Well tonight he was freaking out in his stall didn't want his evening feed grabbed a mouth of hay went back to circling....of course bumping into the walls occasionally. Although I believe it would be best to put him down to avoid any unnecessary harm I am concerned that I might be over looking something does anyone have any suggestions? I love this little man he has done so much good for so many kids & I promised him a good life....I just don't want him to suffer unnecessarily. I am doing everything to keep him safe. I am trying so hard to do what is right by him. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions!

He might smell something you cannot... Something he is afraid of...
I am leaning more towards this. ^^^^ A friend of mine a couple of years ago couldn't figure out why her dog wouldn't go out until she heard the bobcat. I had a horse that was being teased by the neighborhood kids. Did not know until came home early from work.
