If you want something done right, do it yourself. Never has a catch phrase been more profound and true than when Jesus achieved salvation for us.
Often when we utter those word, it's with a sarcastic tone. We're aggravated that no one can get it right and let's face it probably a little cocky thinking we're more capable. However, when I read Isaiah 59:15-16 Jesus attitude shows compassion , no arrogance. The fact that "He was appalled that there was no one to intervene"" on our behalf shows deep love for us; He simply could not bear to let us destroy ourselves and each other.
Actually, Jesus has every right to be arrogant and cocky; there's no besting him. But given the opportunity , he humbled himself to ensure justice see Philippians 2:8 And through His just actions , we thrive in HIs grace. That's worth more than a passing glance. Through His accomplishment of justice , we thrive in His grace.
We deserve His justice, but He offers His grace instead when we acknowledge our humble position and surrender to His loving ways on our behalf. Many people fight Him on that, but what we need to understand above al I how He fights for all of us.
The more we realize how much Jesus gave for us and still gives us the more we feel appalled that we cost Him so much. May that deepening understanding of His sacrifice ever increase our sense of awe at being loved so greatly.
Does anything shock you anymore? While we might witness and hear of shocking behavior in the news, ask Jesus to shock you more today with His abundant love for you.
