I currently feed RenewGold feed and ShoGlo vitamin/ mineral supplement.  My horses look pretty good, but don't have that  "Bloom" look I like.  They are sorta sunk in in the flank area and their muscle tone isn't what I feel it should be.  Should I change feed or are there any supplements I should try?

Exercise for the muscle tone, and brush them daily.  There is no supplement that will make up for lack those two items.

I have found Platinum Performance puts the bloom on my hard to keep mare.  She loves it.  I also know she can get ulcers quite often so when I take her off of Ulcergard for any length of time I do notice she starts to fall off a bit.  If I go to a long weekend show with her it doesn't seem to matter what I feed her because she will stop eating the entire ration and then you start to see her draw up but as soon as we get home she blooms out nicely.  Yep, she's my Prima donna but I love her!

They get plenty of exercise.  That's why I'm asking if it's the feed.  Both are not  hard keepers at all.

I would up your protein source, along with fat, make sure they are getting all their vitamins and minerals and then start exercising regularly. Not just long trotting and loping, but asking them to frame up and move foward balanced. This will build muscle and fill them out where they should be.

I switched to buckeye grow and win, it is expensive but one bag lasts 30 days so a little over a dollar a day. It has over 30 percent protein, low NSC. They also have a ultimum 100 which is all fat, my broodmare gets a scoop it is 30ml scoop twice a day. I also add flax to all my horses feed from 1/2 to a cup a day depending on their body score.

If their top line needs work, boehinger has a product called Equitop Myoplast that helps with muscle regeneration, and it definitely worked for my horses.

My horses feeding program varies on a day to day basis, depending on how they look, their symptoms and what my plan is for them that day, if I am going to a barrel race, some get omeprazole OTC, some are on Lubrysin, some are on probiotics.

I've been feeding FORCO to a horse of mine for just under two weeks. He's starting to look great!

I feed red top clover hay.  Just as good as alfalfa hay, but less calcium for my horse with a bone spur.

I love what THE Muscle Mass and Forco did for my yearling. It really helped him to blossom. He also gets fed Alfalfa and a cup of Triple Crown.
