If you are like me and can't afford a PHT right now and the issue you want to address is soreness, then I would get the cheaper bi-polar magnetic blanket. I have an old Norfield and it helps with my horse's back soreness caused by an ill fitting saddle. But the bi-polar products have restrictions on their use that you have to look up. For example if there is infection or tumors, they can be detrimental. That is one reason I will be purchasing a PHT after I have bought a saddle that fits my horse. Oh and I did buy a cheap uni-polar blanket and it made my horse crazy. I think they put the magnets on backwards.

PHT or Classic Equine MagNTX. Prof choice disappointed me when they copied the cheaper Dura-Tech brand on their blanket. If you get Prof Choice just save the money and get the $80 dura tech

I had a duratec and it made my calm gelding jump out of his skin at things he never would have before. Riding him was like sitting on a time bomb! I have read where people had the polarity checked and the magnets were put on backwards. That would explain my horse's reaction. He did not do that with the old Norfield's I use on him.
