Location: Kentucky | What is this world coming to! Threats on social media are saying that people are talking of a real life purge in Louisville KY tomorrow night 8/15 from 8pm-630am. Tomorrow starts the KY State Fair also. Prayers that this is just some dumb kids trying to play a joke and think it is funny. My sister lives in Louisville and said it has been all over the news.

Location: Kentucky | I work in Louisville and live 20 minutes away. The State Fair started on Thursday, August 14th. The only place I've heard of this "Purge" BS is on social media. The news hasn't mentioned it. I'm sure they don't want people panicking. It's a total hoax.
In the movie "The Purge" the government allows people to do what they want. In real life, it's called breaking the law, murder, etc. |

They are talking about it on the news but keep assuring the public that the police are prepared etc. They did say to stay in your homes from 8-630 because they'd rather people be safe than sorry. We had a mob of youth back in March attack several people downtown. There was no warning. That's what I don't understand about this, why are they telling us when it's going to happen? Criminals aren't usually that dumb......... |

I watched Fox 41 from 5:00-9:00 this morning. No mention of it. It's all over Facebook though. I agree with Stacey - why would they "announce" it? The youth gang went wild without saying a word prior. It's just to put people in a panic. Apparently it's working. |

It is and I don't even live there My sister and her family does though. I am a worry wart, and always thinks of what could go wrong. It drives me nuts but it is just me. |

Location: In Ky following Barrel Races & Walker hounds. | I was listening to the Louisville scanner last night on my phone... All kinds of calls about shots being fired, SEVERAL home invasions, people lighting fires in parking lots, a man walking down the road with a shot gun, one mans car was being shook with him in it, people trying to jump in cars at stop lights, ect. And I just caught it around 11 when I was fixing to go to sleep, so I didnt listen long. My husbands friend said he heard reports earlier of a groups of people walking around with machetes, all kinds of crazy stuff.... But then I read on facebook people were saying it was fake, nothing was going on, ect.
The scary thing is we live in a sick world where people find this kind of thing "fun". Louisville is about 2hrs from me, but the thought of that all going on that close hit close to home for me, you never know where this kind of thing is going to happen. I don't blame it solely on Hollywood, I know several people who can go watch a movie without feeling the need to act it out, I blame things like this on drugs, for the most part. Seems to me like drugs are eating peoples brains up so badly they can no longer distinguish real life from fiction, and they take to doing things like this.
All I know to do is pray for Louisville, and anywhere else being threatened with this "Purge" reenactment. If the calls in Louisville were fake then who is to say they aren't going to really do it tonight? Or another night?
Keeping all of you being threatened with this in my prayers... |
