I am just starting to barrel race again after about a 10 year lay off. My horse is starting to come on better and I would like to start going a little more, but I would really like a little LQ Trailer to do so, as all I have now is a little two horse bumper pull. Not being sure how much I want to go, I really don't want buy a new trailer, nor do I want to spend $40,000 on a higher end used LQ trailer.
I found a used little 2 horse LQ trailer for a pretty good price.........but it's an Exiss. Opinions? Thoughts on these trailers?

It will be fine you to start with, if it doesn't have any problems.

Absolutely!...they are entry level trailers made just for someone like you who probably goes on weekends and doesn't want to spend a lot to start out with....if you buy it right, it should not depreciate much when you decide to upgrade or sell...just check it out good, the major repairs are brakes, refrigerators, AC/s....make sure you see it all running before you buy...

Matt's trailer is an Exiss with weekend living quarters and its great. It's not huge LQ but we've spent weekends in it before and we just store our clothes bags in the pickup, bathroom or horse compartment if we aren't hauling horses. He's had the trailer for several years and really likes it. I have a stock combo Travalong and LOVE it though its not LQ and the roof leaks. If the leak was stopped, I'd be just fine hauling battery powered fans, a generator and a small AC unit or heater.

I think you will more than fine with an exxiss. They are not the highest ones out there but are by far from the cheapest. I had one and it hauled great and I didn't have any issues with it at all.

I am in the same situation as well.
Just starting back after a 8-9 year hiatus from running.
I looked at several brands that I was told were in comparison.
Exiss, Featherlite, Sundowner, ect. The dealer I talked to said they were all in the same range.
I ended up buying an 05 Featherlite for a really great price. I will put my own weekend package in it.
You might save some money going with a weekender at first.

I would say anything thats safe is good enough to get started with. I had to use a 2 horse trailer that the woodpeckers pecked on as the paint was peeled. And you know what? It got me around enough to get to Circuit Finals!!

Just bought my second Exiss, love them! I'm just a weekend warrior that does go to several 3 dayers a year. I went bigger with this one, is the only reason I got rid of my other one. Featherlite's and Cherokee's are great too. Good Luck

Our very first trailer was a used 3h Exiss, no LQ.  We only kept it a few months before we had to upgrade to a 4 horse.  We sold it to a friend and she still has it today.  Trailer is probably 20 years old and she has had no problems with the structural integrity of the trailer.

i like mine. I don't race that much so did not want to spend a fortune. I got a great deal. I had to put a little money into and a little work but it is worth it to save thousands!!!!

I have one with 14 foot lq that has upgraded cabinets no,problems at all. I know i could sell it in a heatbeat. I dont go every weekend. But it has ducted heat and or propane heat. Went last weekend was 50 degree one am turned heat on was great. No problems at all. i bought it 2nd hand and a dealer ordered the trailer with cqbinet upgrade l shaped couch. It has 40 inch stalls my 16.1 hand gelding loves this part. It has a 14 fooot short wall. I love it i dont go every weekend as i live up north. I love the fact i can get hay in longways because of the xtra stall width. Just oove tye set up. Wish i could have afforded a 4-star or platinum.
